Warner Bros. has set dates for two of its potential prize contenders, announcing that J. Clint Eastwood Edgar begins its run on November 9, while Stephen Daldry So strong, so incredibly close & open in limited markets on Christmas Day.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the legendary FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, the Eastwood film first opened in select markets before expanding nationwide on Nov. 11. The picture explores the public and private life of the most powerful, controversial and enigmatic 20th century.
So strong, starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, and will expand nationwide on January 20. The film is about a boy who is convinced that his father (Hanks), a victim of 9 / 11, left a message for him somewhere in the city. Feeling disconnected from her mother (Bullock) begins his quest.
Bullock’s next film, 3D gravity, also received a release date. Warner will open the film in the space station, directed by Alfonso Cuaron and starring George Clooney, November 21, 2012, the day before Thanksgiving.
And in a small adjustment program, Warner trip delayed sequel 2: The Mysterious Island for two weeks, from 27 in 2012 to 10 Feb 2012.
