Marissa Leighton Meester (born April 9, 1986) is an American actress and singer. Meester became famous for playing the role of Blair Waldorf in the CW television series Gossip young adult Girl. She then ventured into films and has many hit movies to her credit, including Flourish, Remember the Daze, Drive-Thru, and Killer Movie. She recently starred in the film drama, 2010 Country, strong country. In January 2011, it is set to appear in three films on the big screen: The Roommate, Monte Carlo and oranges.
Meester was born to parents of Constance and Doug while her mother was serving a federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas. Although her mother was serving a prison sentence for her involvement in a trafficking ring that smuggled marijuana from Jamaica to the United States, she could give birth to Leighton in a hospital and a nurse for three months in a house transition before returning to complete her prison sentence.
