The NWS has determined that there was no tornado in Westport, but we are still waiting to hear about the damage in Litchfield and Hartford counties.
“Snap, snap, snap, snap, all I heard was this big crack,” said Anthony Tarantino of Bristol.
Those trees that were broken listened to land in his backyard and in the cars in front of his house. Luckily, the house itself was spared, but his neighbors were not so fortunate.
“Damage Yes, we have roof, no other damage to my neighbors. There are four trees in their home,” said Richard Martin from Bristol.
The storm left tens of thousands without electricity, including Timothy J. ‘S Restaurant in Plainville.
“Dinner last night was lost, probably all day today will be a wash and we hope that tomorrow morning,” said Tim Osuch, s. J. Timothy ‘
Lake Compounce in Bristol had to close the initial phase of the storm, and had a delayed opening this morning because they were still without electricity. Power has been restored, but not all games are running.
