Lady Chinky Eyes

Lady Chinky EyesLady Chinky Eyes, A racist receipt, a picture posted on Twitter, an apology from a national pizza chain, and an employee is fired for identifying a woman as “lady chinky eyes.”

I’m monitoring social media so you don’t have to. Over the weekend A Papa John’s employee in New York City was fired after a customer tweeted a picture of her receipt which included a racial slur.

As you can see on the receipt, in the space for the customer’s name the employee who rang up Minhee Cho’s order identified her as lady chinky eyes.

A statement on Papa John’s Facebook page said the incident “goes against our company values and we’ve confirmed with the franchisee that this matter was addressed immediately.” Meaning, the employee was fired.

The pizza company also posted on its Twitter feed, “We have issued an apology, are reaching out to customer & franchise employee is being terminated.”

This has happened before. About a month ago an employee of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Irvine, California was fired after mocking Asian-American customers, by used “Ching” and “Chong” in the customer identification line on the receipts.
