Kyle Busch Parked

Kyle Busch Parked, Kyle Busch was “parked” during Sunday’s Sprint Cup race, but it didn’t keep him from supporting his team from pit road.

Busch was banned from racing at Texas Motor Speedway during the Nationwide Series race on Saturday and the AAA Texas 500 on Sunday for intentionally crashing Ron Hornaday Jr. head-first into the wall during Friday’s Trucks race.

On Sunday, Busch decided to give replacement driver Michael McDowell support from the No. 18 pit box.

Although he refused to comment, he did send an open letter to his fans.

“I want to sincerely apologize for my actions during Friday night’s Truck Series race at Texas,” he wrote. “I understand why I was taken out of the car for the rest of the weekend. NASCAR officials had to act, and I accept their punishment and take full responsibility for my actions.”

His primary sponsor, M&M’s, triggered speculation it might start shopping its funding to other teams with this statement: “The recent actions by Kyle Busch are not consistent with the values of M&M’S and we’re very disappointed. Like you, we hold those who represent our brand to a higher standard and we have expressed our concerns directly to Joe Gibbs Racing.”
