Kung Fu Fighting, Jamaica-born singer Carl Douglas has attacked to arrest a British pub singer to sing his classic chart hit ‘Kung Fu Fighting “, insisting that” not a racist song. “Singing the classic album arrested Simon Ledger, reports Sun Ledger was singing in the bar Driftwood Beach at Sandown on Sunday when a Chinese mother and her son reportedly passing the bar, took offense.
Douglas, whose song reached number one on both the singles charts in the UK and U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1974, said: “I could not believe This is not a racist is a happy song, kicking disco song…”
“I have Chinese cousins?? And my sister is married to a man named Tony Chang. Why would I sing a song that could be construed as racist?” added.
Earlier, a Hampshire police spokesman said Ledger had been arrested on suspicion of causing harassment, alarm or distress in paragraph 4 of the Public Order Act 1986 after a 32-year-old home China claims that it was racially abused.
“If the victim believes that an alleged racially aggravated crime, the police will treat it seriously. Investigations into this incident continues,” the spokesman had said.
