Kiran Kumar Reddy Will Be Andhra Pradesh CM, Andhra Pradesh, Assembly President Kiran Kumar Reddy will be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the State on Thursday, a senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee said after a meeting of the Party Congress in Hyderabad.

“Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has chosen Ramos Kiran Kumar as the new leader of the Congress Party. He will be sworn in tomorrow by the Governor as the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh,” Mukherjee said in a brief statement.

Today Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party had authorized the party chief Sonia Gandhi to decide their new leader to succeed K. Rosaiah as Chief Minister.

The meeting, which came hours after Mr. Rosaiah resigned citing personal reasons, unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing Ms. Gandhi to decide on the successor to Rosaiah.

“The CLP meeting held on November 24 unanimously agreed to ask Congress President Sonia Gandhi to select the new leader of the CLP,” said the resolution. ”

Another resolution was adopted on record the services of Mr. Rosaiah.

In addition, Mr. Mukherjee, senior leaders AK Antony, Molly and Ghulam Nabi Azad Veerappa attended the meeting.
