Kim Kardashian Kris Humphries Divorce

Kim Kardashian Kris Humphries Divorce, When reality star Kim Kardashian and New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries announced they would be getting married, everyone was ecstatic for them. When their extravagant wedding took place on August 20, 2011 everyone knew about it. When Kim and Kris’s two day wedding special aired in October on E!, everyone “oohed and aahed” at the $10 million affair with a long guest list of celebrities. When Kim filed for divorce on October 31, 2011, the world was shocked. The marriage lasted 72 days-just two months.

When Kim filed for divorce she cited “irreconcilable differences” but the media and fans alike still speculate on the reason for the split. The tabloids say that Kim Kardsahian allegedly was aware of her problems with Kris before their wedding. That could be the reason Kim and Kris’s prenuptial agreement was that after marriage, they would keep their assets separate from one another. Neither walked away with anything from each other; last year Kim made $65 million while Kris, unemployed due to the NBA lockout, made $3 million. As for the rumored $2 million wedding ring, it is stated in the pre-nup that Kim can pay Kris for the ring if she wants to keep it.

Many rumors say that the split was because of Kris’s immaturity and Kim’s overbearing personality. Ever since Kris became unemployed because of the NBA lockout, he was partying excessively and his laziness interfered with Kim’s strong work ethic. Kris was presumably having a hard time adjusting to the reality star’s level of fame. The split was not exactly mutual, because Kris was “devastated” when Kim filed for divorce. He claimed he wanted to “make it work” while Kim said that this was the best decision for her.

Kim claimed she did not want the split to turn into a nasty battle, but that changed when Kris filed to annul his marriage, or say it never took place. Kim asked the court to reject any requests from Kris for spousal support and asked that both of them cover their own legal fees (ouch!).

With the news of the divorce settling down, both parties say that they are moving on and wish each other good luck. The new season of “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” that currently premiered shows a lot of Kris and Kim’s relationship. We wish them both the best!
