Kids Turn In School Bus Driver

Kids Turn In School Bus Driver, Do you ever wonder how safe your kids are once you drop them off on the school bus? While many of us might worry about the bus breaking down or making to it school on time, how many of us contemplate if the school bus driver might have been drinking? Would your child know what to do if he suspected the driver was inebriated? What she be able to identify it?

One group of school kids not only recognized that their own driver was drunk, but they quickly took action, which shows that kids and cell phones can be an invaluable mix, especially when it comes to safety.

On Wednesday afternoon, a group of quick-thinking middle schoolers found themselves on a bus with a drunken driver. The kids were on their way home from Westampton Middle School in New Jersey when they noticed unusual behavior.

When the kids became aware that bus driver Carole Crockett, 46, was falling asleep at the wheel and swerving, they got nervous and called their parents, who in turn, alerted the school and called police. The authorities were able to track down Crockett who by that time was at another school picking up 25 more children to take home.

The NY Daily News reports Crockett’s blood alcohol level was .25, more than three times the legal limit of .08 when the police found her.

Crockett was charged with 25 counts of driving under the influence with a minor, driving under the influence on school property, endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct.

These children likely saved the next group of kids from a very, dangerous fate. Crockett was released after paying part of the $85,000 bail. She is due back in court on Nov. 17.

I wonder if she’s in a union which allows her to keep driving until the court date.
