KFC Commercial

January 9, 2010 by USA Post

KFC Commercial,KFC is getting serious negative feedback when one of their ads came out to be racist.

It’s an ad that showed a crowd of black people watching a cricket match– all were in a noisy, jovial mood. One white guy stands out, apparently distressed by the festive crowd that surrounds him.

He then says, “Need a tip when you’re stuck in an awkward situation?” And then his “ingenious” strategy to get all the black people to shut up was to take out a bucket of chicken.

A representative for KFC Australia told a local paper, “It is a light-hearted reference to the West Indian cricket team … The ad was reproduced online in the US without KFC’s permission, where we are told a culturally-based stereotype exists, leading to the incorrect assertion of racism. We apologize for any misinterpretation of the ad as it was not meant to offend anyone.”

Watch the commercial and make your own judgment and tell us if you think it was racist or not.
