November 20, 2010 by staff

Kenken, The Times introduced its second change this month in section BD. Following a reorganization of the section, which included adding a second announcement, more than two bands have been removed: “Home and Away” and “Brewster Rockit: Space Guy” Earlier this month, “Cathy” Retired and “Rex Morgan, MD” has been cut to make room for the addition of the puzzle kenkeni.

However, it was also an addition this week on the front of the comics. For the first time a selection of comics available on latimes.com. “Rex Morgan” and “Brewster Rockit” are among them. So are others that readers ask a question, like “Mary Worth” and “Sally Forth.” (But readers were disappointed to discover that “Home and Away” is not included in the package which prebundled The Times agrees. However, the band is available on the website of his union.)

As of Tuesday morning, about 15 people, most of them, “Brewster Rockit” fans had e-mailed the Times to protest against cuts.

For a sampling of the answer, keep reading…

“I was not shocked at all if you removed” Rex Morgan, “a band that plodded along painfully. But you just deleted another one of my favorites – ‘. Home and Away” With all the sad news, the Comics are the last part of the paper I read. They give me a little good humor. There are so many good cartoons that you could bring: “Sally Forth”, “shoes”, “Andy Capp” and “The Wizard of ID, ‘to name a few.”
Barry Ulrich, Claremont -
“I read the newspaper the Los Angeles Times and hope that I pass from joy to my children. Just like my parents did with me, I recently submitted the document to my eldest, a second workbook, by reading the comics together. Our family was very disappointed that our favorite band, “Brewster Rockit”, was reported missing this week and the comics section has been getting increasingly smaller. “Brewster Rockit” was one of the finest bands in your document. We sincerely hope you will bring Brewster Rockit. ”
- Janet Ho, Anaheim Hills

“We’ll keep this simple. Bring ‘Brewster Rockit comic strip to your page. Drop one of the ads, drop the silly” Chickweed Lane, “drop it (but not, we hasten to add,” Zits, ‘Pearls before Swine “and” Get Fuzzy “), but reduce the space Guy.”
- Bill and Courtney Ann, Long Beach

“You were running Snoopy thousand years. It was OK for the first time, old for the second time and frankly old now. Yet, you keep it and get rid of” Brewster Rockit “, which is actually funny. What’s happening? ”
- Leslie Brown, Thousand Oaks

“So.” Times change, and change them with Times “This is reflected by my long experience as a reader of the Los Angeles Times, the following thought:” As of press time the finances of The Times, The Times liked the comic strip page.
- Jack E. Oakes, Santa Ana
