Kelly Osbourne Amy Winehouse, Kelly Osbourne has paid tribute to “best friend” Amy Winehouse, following her tragic death today (07/23/11). British singer 27 years old, was found dead in her London home at around 16:00 local time and Kelly – who enjoyed a close friendship with Amy – strives to reach an agreement with the news.
She tweeted: “I can not even breathe right now I’m crying so hard you just lost one of my best friends forever I love you Amy & I will never forget the real you.” I miss my friend! Im going to be away from Twitter for a while thanks for all your support! # Pray4Amy (sic)!
Nicki Minaj with singer also went to the website of micro-blogging to express her surprise, writing: “. Please tell me Amy Winehouse is not dead is this a joke?”
Rihanna said she was “shattered” by the death of Amy, but he hopes her legacy will live music.
She Twitter: “I am truly saddened by this # DearAmy.
“# DearAmy U Majah made an impression in the industry and around the world in such a short space of time too short…! # ICONSneverDIE (sic)”
Spokesman Chris Goodman issued a statement saying: “. All that has to do with Amy is shocked and devastated our thoughts are with her family and friends of the family issued a statement when ready.”
The Rehab singer – who had a history of drug addiction and alcohol abuse – was discovered at her home north of London by the emergency services, and her death is being treated as “unexplained”.
A police statement said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in NW1 Camden Square shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday July 23, following reports of a woman found dead.
“On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene.
“The consultations will continue in the circumstances of death. In this first stage being treated as unexplained.”
A section of the street where he lived was cordoned off as journalists Amy, local residents and fans gathered at the police tape.
Amy won widespread acclaim with her 2003 debut album, Frank, but it was the 2006 Back to Black, which brought him worldwide fame, winning five Grammy Awards. However, he had a high profile battle with drink and drugs and spent several stints in rehab, including one last month.
She also had a troubled marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil, whom she divorced in the summer of 2009 after two years.
