Kathleen Rice, It was a fight for sure, but ultimately overcame Eric Schneiderman Kathleen Rice, in the Democratic primary for attorney general.

Here is the statement of Rice’s concession in its entirety. I’ll have more in the direction of victory Schneiderman is for you (and many other things too) tomorrow, so thank you for your patience.

“I commend State Senator Eric Schneiderman for his success tonight and hope to help ensure that the Office of the Attorney General is in Democratic hands.

“Whenever there were more similarities than differences among the five Democrats competing heartily for this office, and now it’s time to party unity to ensure that the principle that we all cherish – the government is a force for good in the people’s lives – continues to thrive in the village attorney.

“Running for statewide office was actually like running a marathon, but I lost the privilege of having a job I love, and tomorrow I’ll be at work in the office of district attorney struggle the most serious problems Nassau County, with more energy than ever.

“I am grateful to my family, friends and supporters for all they’ve done for me, and we hope to build on the relationships we have forged in the days ahead.”
