Justin Bieber And Mariah Carey

Justin Bieber And Mariah Carey, All I want for Christmas is the number for child services. It’s a simple request, really — something I never thought I’d be asking for this year — but then I saw the music video that’s posted below. It’s Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey’s version of Carey’s 1994 chestnut All I Want For Christmas Is You, a duet the two pop stars have been teasing since early October, and now the video is here for us to view since Bieber premiered it during his appearance on Wednesday night’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center TV special.
Titled “All I Want For Christmas Is You (SuperFestive!),” the video takes us inside a (SuperFestive!) department store. Bieber and his entourage are loading their already-stuffed shopping carts with various crap (brought to you by the video’s sponsor). But then, across the aisle, he sees a Christmas vision.
It’s the mall Santa! (So, Mariah Carey.) Sure, she’s older than his mom. And yeah, Old Man Macy will probably send her home for reporting to duty without pants and suggestively stroking the store displays. But a 17-year-old’s heart wants what a 17-year-old’s heart wants — and what it desires more than anything is to give Santa the elevator-eyes and then eventually share some PG cuddles in her sleigh.
This was all much funnier when SNL did it months ago. Kid, we really wish you could have been happy with that sweet new pair of kicks.
There are other things going on in the Sanaa Hamri-directed video, too, of course. They mostly involve Bieber practicing his Boyz II Men face from atop a store display. And there’s a subplot about a less-sxy Santa handing out golden tickets — tickets that give a bunch of lucky kids ringside seats to Bieber’s sleigh-ride with Carey. (They also get presents. Small mercies.)
