Jefferson and linebacker Joshua Johns surrendered and were released on bail and 5000 every Friday after the police obtained arrest warrants on charges of second degree stemming from his alleged involvement in a fight outside a bar in Baton Rouge Shady on 19 August. School officials have suspended the players indefinitely.

Baton Rouge Police Chief Dewayne White said the evidence in the case would be referred to the East Baton Rouge Parish district attorney for review. He described the tests as “numerous interviews of witnesses, including victims and players involved in the incident … and the video evidence of certain individuals, all at the scene.”


• The coach of Miami, Golden said the university has asked the NCAA to decide the eligibility of a number of players – eight years, a person with knowledge of the process – believed that violations committed in relationships with former Nevin Shapiro reinforcement.

• Tulsa receiver Damaris Johnson, who holds the NCAA record for all-purpose yards, was suspended indefinitely, was questioned by police after the arrest of his girlfriend in an embezzlement complaint. Tulsa police spokesman, said Leland Chamon Ashley Jones, who works at a local Macy’s, is accused of selling more than 1,500 and the value of the goods to Johnson by just fewer than 13 and on one occasion. He is also accused of charging 34 cents for him a total of goods and 1283.
