Jon Hamm Kim Kardashian, The 40-year-old actor, who plays brooding advertising executive Don Draper on the popular series, which returns for a fifth season this month, said that the United States had dumbed down, adding:
“We’re at a place where the idea of being ‘elite’ is somehow considered negative.” He went on: “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated.” “Being a f ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly. … It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me.”
In an interview with Elle UK, Hamm also hit out at what he described as America’s contorted concept of female body image.
He said that it was wrong where a curvy woman such as his co-star Christina Hendricks, who plays flirtatious secretary Joan Holloway in Mad Men, was not considered to have a beautiful figure.
“I think Christina Hendricks is a beautiful woman, but we live in a culture where the beauty model is significantly different from Christina’s silhouette,” he said “Those of us that have lived with and actually seen a real woman n*ked and made love realise there are many, many [types].”
