The California native is the star of a YouTube video titled “Trick Shot Quarterback Johnny Mac.” In the movie thats longer than four minutes, McEntee displays some amazing throws, including knocking the water bottle on someone’s head, broken dishes thrown in the air and make baskets in the stands at Gampel Pavilion. With uncanny accuracy, you might wonder how McEntee has not seen earlier in the field for the Huskies.
Throughout my four memorable years studying at the University of Connecticut at Storrs, I was always led to believe that the football team had no passing game. Were they rising? Absolutely, but they have a team on the ground and pound led by people like Donald Brown, Jordan Todman, and some huge offensive lineman blocking execution. Maybe the Huskies should free their backup quarterback next season?
There are a few shots where the ball disappears from the screen that makes me think that it is not legitimate, but there are many others where you can see the ball all the time that made me a believer. All this is done in an environment without pressure, but the child must have talent. Make these throws blindfolded? The only thing he sounded every goal posts using mainly the upper body? Get this kid some wide receivers and get him into the lineup.
