John Mantooth

John MantoothJohn Mantooth, John Mantooth is running for District Judge in Oklahoma. When he decided to run, he may have thought would have to face some negative campaigning, but I bet you did not expect this. According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, his daughter, Jan Schill has started a website,

Schill says on his site that Mantooth … ‘Is not a good father, not a good grandfather, and in my opinion a review of his record 37 years in Cleveland, Garvin and McClain counties reveals that he would not be a good judge.

But Schill was not done. Her husband, Andrew, writes in the same site as a lawyer with extensive experience practicing law in that part of Oklahoma. He writes: “I can not imagine remaining silent when I weigh the consequences of him sitting at the trial on a community I love.”

Mr. Schill then tells a story very interesting holiday. He says a few days before Christmas 2004, Mr. Mantooth reached Schill law office with a basket of gold, and quickly left. Schill looked through the basket, and found a number of advantages, including a box of chocolates. Schill decided, like many of us did, which was to participate in the sweets before sharing the rest with his family. Imagine his disgust when the chocolate filling was replaced with dead worms and weevils. Mantooth then called Schill’s office the next day to ask you not to eat the chocolate, which was a “special” gift for his daughter.

Mantooth had an interesting response to these allegations. He stated that his belief is that this is part of a negative campaign because Schill Franco-law, Greg Dixon, is Mantooth opponent in the election.
