John Edwards Prostitute

John Edwards Prostitute, Former presidential candidate John Edwards today denied a report saying he was a client of a prostitution ring in New York City. “Mr. Edwards categorically denies that he was involved with any prostitute or service,” said Allison Van Laningham, a lawyer for Edwards.

“These allegations are false, defamatory, and he puts those who would publish or repeat them on notice that they acting with actual malice by reporting or repeating them. He has demanded a complete retraction from the only source being quoted.”

Edwards’ name surfaced in a story by DNA Info, a website about New York crime news. The story says a woman who worked for Anna Gristina, the accused “Millionaire Madam,” told investigators that she was paid to have sex with Edwards in 2007 during his second bid for the White House. The story is based on unnamed sources.

Gristina and her co-defendant have pleaded not guilty to a charge of promoting prostitution. Their lawyers say they ran a dating service.

Edwards, the 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee, is awaiting trial on federal charges that he broke campaign finance laws to shield his affair with campaign videographer Rielle Hunter. He has denied wrongdoing.
