Jim Harbaugh Handshake, The Detroit Lions finally lost a game. Then his coach briefly lost the calm after a handshake after the match became a strange skirmish in the field after 25 to 19 of the Lions loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at Ford Field.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz objected to an over-exuberant Jim Harbaugh, who threw his fists in the air near midfield and then merely give Schwartz and strong handshake and a pat on the back before running away after the game. Schwartz immediately turned and ran a Comment Harbaugh, whose response apparently set the coach of the Lions out.
Schwartz was charged after Harbaugh and had to be restrained by security personnel of the Lions before being escorted to the tunnel to the locker room. Players from both teams converged near the tunnel, pushing before security personnel more time to restore.
The NFL announced that it will review the incident.
Then Schwartz, whose team fell 5-1 with the loss, not apologized for his behavior.
“I went to congratulate Coach Harbaugh and pushed me out of the way,” he said. “And then I did not expect an obscenity at the time. So it was a surprise to me at the end of the game.”
Later, he added, “I went to shake hands with a rival coach, and obviously, you win a game like that you’re excited and stuff. But there is a protocol that accompanies this league.”
Harbaugh did not apologize, either, although he offered an explanation.
“It was a very emotional game,” he said. “I was very fast. I gave the very strong hand, a kind of slap-handshake grip and that was in me, just a little too hard. And then there were some bumps on my chest, I think. … I do not I know. But as I say, that was in me, shaking hands too hard. ”
When asked if he apologized when Schwartz came after him, Harbaugh said, “I do not think he apologized, told me I shook his hand very hard. … The game turns me on. I get emotional. I fire up. If this offends you, or anyone else, so be it. ”
