Jeff ConawayJeff Conaway, The death of actor Jeff Conaway on May 27 has been determined accidental and caused by major internal infections, the autopsy confirmed Friday.

AceShowbiz office reports the Los Angeles County coroner said in a report that the actor 60 years old, best known for his roles in Grease and Taxi, died of an infection of the valves of the heart, pneumonia, coronary artery disease and encephalopathy, a brain disorder caused by drug overdose.

A toxicology report was not carried out in Conaway, because he was hospitalized weeks before his death, which would have resulted in his blood results to come out clean, according to Coroner Craig Harvey.

The actor was admitted to hospital on 11 May after being found unconscious from an overdose of prescription drugs of course. Conaway was placed in an induced coma a week later and withdrew life support on May 26 by the wishes of his family.

He spoke publicly about his drug addiction and sought treatment on VH1 Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008.
