Jay-Z Selling Occupy T-shirts

November 12, 2011 by staff

Jay-Z Selling Occupy T-shirts, Jay-Z has decided to make Occupy Wall Street T-shirts, and he’ll be selling them under his Rocawear label. That’s not such a wacky of an idea, but the hoopla is over the fact that as of now, he’s not planning on giving any proceeds to the movement. Nope, for now, he’s just gonna sell the shirts.

The T-shirts read “Occupy All Streets,” and he wore one backstage at Madison Square Garden, which prompted Russell Simmons to tweet that they “took #OccupyWallStreet to a whole new level.” That level, however, does not currently include any sort of kickback, as a spokesperson clears up that misconception via Business Insider:

The ‘Occupy All Streets’ T shirt was created in support of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement. Rocawear strongly encourages all forms of constructive expression, whether it be artistic, political or social. ‘Occupy All Streets’ is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street. At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement
