James Bond Twitter Pic

James Bond Twitter Pic, James Bond will be back, and his next movie now has a title. Daniel Craig will once again portray elegant spy 007 in “Skyfall,” which is scheduled to hit theaters in November 2012. (Give some sleuthing props to tech site Fusible.com, which snooped that name out last month via domain name registrations for sites like “jamesbond-skyfall.com” and “skyfallfilm.com.”)
Daniel Craig will of course return as Bond. Javier Bardem, so frightening with a cattle bolt gun in “No Country for Old Men” and yet so charming in “Eat Pray Love,” seems an inspired choice as the villain. Ralph Fiennes also plays a villain, and Ben Whishaw and Albert Finney will also star. The always witty Yahoo Projector blog is thrilled about that last bit, noting “we would watch Albert Finney chew on straw for two hours.”
And my favorite bit of casting continues — Judi Dench returns as M. Rumor was that Naomie Harris would play Miss Moneypenny, M’s secretary, and although her character is described as Eve, a “field agent,” rumor has it she could transform into Moneypenny later on. Berenice Marlohe was announced earlier as the main Bond girl, named Severin.
Sam Mendes will direct the film, having chosen that over “The Hunger Games.” South Africa and India were apparently scouted for shooting possibilities, but it’s unclear whether that happened. Wikipedia says that Istanbul, Scotland, and China will all be home to filming.
But my favorite part of this story is that Bond now has a Twitter account, @007. It would be awesome, wouldn’t it, if the account actually took on Bond’s wry persona? I mean, you’ve got a film with a character that well-known and that fleshed-out, wouldn’t you want to capitalize on it and have some fun? Martini recipes, tips for baccarat, links to reviews of the latest Aston-Martin, musings on golf or scrambled eggs?
No such luck so far. Bond’s tweets are informative, but blander than a British fry-up. Although he does relate that Mendes says the movie stands alone, not connecting with “Casino Royale” or “Quantum of Solace.” He tweets the plot synopsis as follows: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 008 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
