Ja Rule, (UKPA) – Rap star JA Rule faces up to two years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

The charge stems from July 2007 when police arrested her luxury sports car for speeding after a concert and Manhattan said they found a loaded semiautomatic pistol in a back door.

It’s 250,000-plus chauffeured Maybach U.S. dollar also had a registration suspended and no insurance, police said.

The rapper said: “It’s not a good day” and refused to discuss the case as he left the court in Manhattan.

Specifically, the rapper admitted to one count of attempting to have a loaded gun outside the home or workplace.

He was promised a prison sentence of two years. It is free until sentencing at a date yet to be determined. He is due in court on February 9 for an update.

Known for his gravelly voice and collaborations with artists like Ashanti and Jennifer Lopez, JA Rule was nominated for rap album 2002 Grammy Award with Pain Is Love.

Born Jeffrey Atkins, he also has also appeared in films including the 2001 film The Fast and the Furious 2003 and Scary Movie 3.
