Isaiah Crowell, Isaiah Crowell and two running backs Georgia will miss the game this week against the State of New Mexico after all three players failed drug tests.
ESPN and The Associated Press have reported the suspension of a game-Crowell and backup Ken Carlton Thomas Malcolm and positive tests were for last week before the Bulldogs beat Florida.
“We have certain standards in everything we do and their actions do not reflect the way in Georgia,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said in a statement on Tuesday, when the suspensions were announced. “They will serve their suspensions, learn a lesson and I am sure to be better men for it.”
The Bulldogs will be forced to struggle to find someone to carry the ball Saturday. With 689 yards, Crowell is the team’s leading rusher. Richard Samuel, who is second with 240 yards, is sidelined after ankle surgery.
The most experienced player in this season is Brandon Harton. He carried 11 times for 33 yards against Coastal Carolina.
