You can usually obtain information about your refund 72 hours after the IRS acknowledges receipt of your e-filed return, or three to four weeks after sending a paper return.

You will need the following information from your tax return:

Your Social Security number (or individual identification number of the taxpayer)
Your Filing Status
The exact amount of all of your refund
Can I change my mailing address online?
If the U.S. Postal Service has returned your refund, you may be able to change the address we have on file for you, online. Where’s your refund? Offer this service for you if you qualify.

What if my refund has been lost, stolen or destroyed?
Generally, you can apply online for a replacement check if it was more than 28 days from the date we have sent your refund. Where’s your refund?
