IPlayer, LoveFilm, 4oD Coming To Xbox 360IPlayer, LoveFilm, 4oD Coming To Xbox 360, The BBC, LOVEFiLM, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are coming to Xbox Live later this year, Microsoft has revealed.

An announcement issued today does not specifically state whether it will be in the form of the iPlayer and Channel 4 4oD service, but apparently that’s what the owner of the platform is concerned. We will update when we know for sure.

Xbox LIVE Gold is not necessary to use the services.

“Today’s announcement is an important step towards realizing our vision to get all the entertainment you want, share with the people you care, makes it easy,” said Microsoft executive Don Mattrick.

“The combination of TV and the world’s leading providers of entertainment with the power of Xbox 360 Kinect and intelligence of the search for Bing’s voice will make the television and entertainment more personal, social and effortlessly.”

The news was part of a more detailed announcement about 40 new television providers and entertainment that adds to the services in several countries around the world later this year. Here is the complete list:
