Iphone Alarm Not Working, (AP) – Many iPhone users were held accountable after sleeping too long to begin the New Year, due to a glitch in the function alarm clock gadget. Users who have put their iPhone alarm for a single alarm rather than using Recurring found the alarm did not work with the arrival of the year, Apple Inc. spokeswoman Natalie Harrison said Sunday.
A fix is underway, and all alarms iPhone works properly from Monday, she said. The error affects Apple iPhones using the latest iOS 4.0 operating system, including earlier versions of the smart phone that users have downloaded the latest version.
It was not immediately clear what caused the alarm problem, or how iPhone users have been affected. Comments posted on blogs and social media sites described people late for work, religious services and other appointments on Saturday and Sunday because of the problem.
The problem is the second in two months involving a revival of the iPhone. The company said in early November that the end of daylight savings time could cause problems for iPhone users. In this case, Apple said that repeating alarms on iPhones and some versions of the iPod touch might not recognize November 7 end of daylight saving time, and could function improperly shortly before or after the time change.
The Cupertino-based firm introduced the iPhone in 2007. Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones in its fiscal fourth quarter, from July to September.
