Iowa Dot, Iowa DOT Reprting that roads are blocked, The Iowa DOT snowplows are back at work in Siouxland. Efforts are underway to remove vehicles and snow removal.

Interstate 29 was reopened in Iowa, but remains closed from Iowa resident in Sioux Falls, SD Highway 18 between U.S. 59 near Sanborn and 71 near Spencer remains closed. The road is impassable.

Iowa DOT reports that other pathways are partially covered with snow mixed with ice and slush. Freezing temperatures will be felt across the state today with high pressure behind the cold winter storm moved out.

If you must travel, be prepared for the dangerous wind chill is below 20 below zero.

The Iowa DOT receives reports of several vehicles stranded on the roads. They say if you lose, do not leave your vehicle. Call 911 and use the materials in your winter survival kit until help arrives.
