Indianapolis State Fair, Authorities say at least four people have died and at least 40 people were injured after part of a concert stage collapsed during a storm in the Indiana State Fair in the United States. A line of storms hit the area around Indianapolis at 9:00 PM on Saturday.
U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) said the winds reached 60 to 70 miles per hour shortly before the fraud that keeps the lights and other equipment collapsed on concert-goers, many of them in the VIP section nearest the stage. Among the injured is a child of seven years.
The incident occurred after the singer Sara Bareilles had finished their set and just before the country band Sugarland is due to perform.
According to Frank Straub, Department of Public Safety Indianapolis: “The response was excellent, not only first responders, but participants, persons attending the event. When the structure collapsed, people in The event worked with emergency providers tried to lift the structure to help people below. ” Fair on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium has been canceled.
