Indianapolis 500 RaceIndianapolis 500 Race:Helio Castroneves will start from the vantage point of the grid of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, looking to make history and win their fourth victory in race one of the most famous American circuit.

Only Americans A.J. Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears have claimed four victories on the 2.5 mile oval circuit of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“For me it would be an honor to include me among those legends like Rick, where AJ and Al,” Castroneves said Saturday in a brief meeting with reporters in Indianapolis.

The Brazilian driver 35 also wants to be the first to get the fourth title in the Indy 500 in a span of 10 years. His first victory in the IndyCar Series circuit current was in 2001 and 2002, and won for the third time last year, from third position of the pole.

Foyt and Unser won four championships in a span of 18 years, while Mears won in 13 years.

Just behind Castroneves in the starting line will be his Penske teammate, Australian Will Power, a leader in the points classification Indy Car Series after their victories this year on the circuit of urban residents in Brazil, and San Petersburg, Florida.

Power has taken seriously the desire to remain a candidate for Penske, and is willing to extend her lead in the standings with his first victory at Indianapolis.

“I like to put pressure on myself because I love winning,” said Power.

Former Indy champion of the category, the Brazilian Tony Kanaan, also of race, who recovered from two falls in the rankings.

“He has a great team,” Castroneves said. “It’s a good driver and I have all the time on my radar, looking for ways to win.”

The Indy 500 is the sixth of 17 races of the IndyCar Series 2010, currently Australia’s Will Power leads with 190 points.

The race is at 12:30 ET and will be able to catch it on ABC in the USA
