Indiana Unemployment, INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana officials said that some people eligible for extended unemployment benefits can apply now rather than wait as had been expected.
The state said Wednesday the computer programming work took less time than expected.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development said it has begun to mail checks to those who are eligible, with about one third Thursday ready. He said that all documents will be posted by Tuesday.
The system is updated once a day.
The ministry said it will open its 27 service centers WorkOne open from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday and 8:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Aug. 6.
The ministry said that nearly 80,000 people are entitled to about 250,000 weeks of combined payments.
