Indiana State Fair
August 6, 2010 by Post Team
The fair opened its 17-day tour in Indianapolis on Friday, with high school marching band competition in the gallery and the largest pig contest among the highlights.
More moderate temperatures are expected in first weekend of the fair. That could lead to large crowds at the fair, which attracted nearly 974,000 visitors last year when it expanded to three weekends.
Fair spokesman Andy Klotz said people associate the state fair with a warm climate and the fairgrounds has a lot of buildings with air conditioning and misting stations.
