Independence Day of India 15 August, Independence Day of India August 15: Independence Day is celebrated every year on August 15 in India. August 15th is a national holiday in India. On August 15, 1947 India had achieved freedom from British rule in India. Thus, on 15 August is known for Independence Day. Celebrate Independence Day is around the country. That day, Prime Minister of India raises the flag of India in the Red Fort, Delhi (capital of India). This year August 15, 2010 is the celebration of 63rd Independence Day of India India Flag & hosting by Sh. Manmohan Singh (Prime Minister of India) in the Red Fort, Delhi. Across the country, the flags of India are given to citizens of India. Popular India celebrate this day with complete freedom. The children are flying kites today. Indian flag is hosts in all schools, colleges, universities as well.
