Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai designers threw the playbook and started with a sheet of paper with the Sonata mid-size 2011. Opens a new style inside and out in a segment full of “me-too” designs.

The segment is perhaps too important to think outside the box. It’s best to follow the leader when it comes to interior and exterior style, when the sale of hundreds of thousands of vehicles hanging by a thread. Taking Chances is too risky.

Not for the thinkers in the California-based Design and Research Center Hyundai taking a bold, fresh about how a family sedan should look. Apparently has paid off judging by the initial reaction of the automotive press and the public in the purchase of automobiles.

The new Sonata has a depth of good looks usually reserved for luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW. Its elegant shape suggests movement with a fast roof line back, a line of character-swooping down from the front fender taillight and a chrome strip that runs along the beltline through the hood with the headlight . Incredibly clean! Although the beltline is high enough, a style feature that is included in vogue in recent years, the sight lines in all directions are excellent.

Hyundai calls “design of the sculpture of fluids.” Mercedes CLS Imitates fastback sedan, which has been in business for several years. It is also very similar to the Volkswagen CC, but the Hyundai design was probably locked in when the CC was revealed for the first time it seems fair to say both cars are at least some of their lines to the Mercedes. No matter the origin of the Sonata striking looks, but they work.

Look inside and see a handsome setting, with a center console that flows through the center console. The SE test car comes with cloth upholstery nice gray and black, and easy to read gauges and switches smooth. The brushed aluminum seat for the future is all we are all wondering, just a little corny, but not enough to spoil the overall feel of the interior as a whole. The top line of limited edition comes with a rich-looking piano black trim.

The irony is that Hyundai has climbed the ladder of success in the past two decades, shamelessly copying the competition. This may be the first Hyundai that clearly steps in the strategy, even if you pay a slight homage to the CLS. The new Sonata truly stands on its own.

And here is perhaps the most interesting thing. There is much more to this sedan’s exterior styling and interior. Hyundai has created a spacious five-passenger vehicle that carries into other areas as well as a combination of performance and mileage to the fore here is not seen in most dog tags medium size.

At the moment there is only one engine choice and we believe will appeal to a large majority of people shopping in this segment. Hyundai has worked a little magic in developing a 2.4-liter direct-injection 4-cylinder 198 hp or developing 200 horsepower, depending on trim level, automatic transmission mated to a slick six-speed.

The engine is strong, measured from 0-to-60 in less than eight seconds in the various magazine tests. And the really good – which is calculated in a class-leading 35 mpg on the highway and 22 city with a combined rate of 26 mpg.

We found the Sonata SE, with a rating of 200 on pony, be more than satisfactory and the ability to grip the car for a rewarding medium sized family car. In this regard, you may find the suspension a little on the stiff side, but we had no problems with the ride and we believe that most people find it acceptable.

For those of you disappointed that fell Hyundai V-6 option for most of the competition has a V-6 of the election, fear not. Hyundai this fall will present a turbocharged four-cylinder developing 274 horsepower, while a surprising 34 mpg highway performance. This model should satisfy all addicted to acting.

And if you want even better mileage, Hyundai will also introduce a hybrid model this fall is expected to be rated at about 40 mpg. It developed 206 horsepower and comes with six-speed automatic instead of the more traditional continuously variable transmission found in most hybrids.

Another of our concerns is that the few tilt steering wheel and telescope have not had enough travel to give us a real comfortable fit. In addition, indicators that look spectacular at night, tended to wash in making the bright sunlight that a task of reading the speedometer.

Passenger space is exemplary with generous leg and foot space for rear seat passengers. The only complaint here is with a sloping roof, which can create some problems of headroom for tall passengers. A generous space for rear seat does not prevent the utility from a pack which will have 16 cubic meters of material, two more than the Honda Accord, which is basically the same size as the Sonata. It is easy to load two sets of golf clubs.

The Sonata comes in three trim levels – GLS, SE and Limited – from 19 995 and for the GLS with manual and automatic transmission and 20 915. We believe that most people opt for the beginning and at 23 315 SE including destination charges. Given the high level of standard content, and these prices are in most cases can be more than the competition. The test vehicles with the SE and 2,600 navigation option, which also included high-quality audio and a sunroof, led to a net income of $ 26,015.

In June the automotive marketing and consulting firm AutoPacific Sonata named the winner of its first President’s Award declaring the sedan received the highest score in his initial study of customer satisfaction. Not a bad start to the all-new Sonata.
