How To Get Straight Cher Hair

How To Get Straight Cher Hair, Another throwback trend we’re glad to see again? Straight, glossy hair. Seventies–style perfection!

Unless you’re genetically blessed with straight, curl–less hair, the Cher look takes a little work. Some pro tips:

First, protect your hair:“Use heat-protectant spray before you do any heat styling,” says Juan Carlos Maciques of Rita Hazan Salon. “You don’t want to fry your hair.”

Then go piece by piece: Once your hair is dry, flat–iron small sections, says Sam Brocato of Sam Brocato Salon. Pin up the top layer temporarily to do the bottom.

But don’t go overboard: “Leave a little body,” says pro Sally Hershberger. “Poker-straight hair isn’t always flattering.”

And to keep the look going: “Tuck a small boar-bristle brush and some hairspray in your bag to maintain the sleekness,” says Ryan Cotton of Marie Robinson salon.
