Houston May Have Public Funeral At Newark Arena, Whitney Houston’s body will be flown to her home state of New Jersey for a funeral, the Associated Press is reporting.

Los Angeles assistant chief coroner Ed Winter said in a press conference Monday that the security hold placed on information about the high-profile case did not prevent the singer’s body from being released to her family.

Houston’s family may be considering holding a wake Thursday and funeral Friday at Newark’s Prudential Center, home of such teams as the New Jersey Devils and temporarily of the New Jersey Nets, the AP reports. The arena seats close to 20,000 for concerts.
