Holly Benson, Holly Benson struck conservative icon Newt Gingrich for a field of robo-call last hour before Tuesday’s primary election.

Benson, a former state representative from Pensacola, who served as secretary of both the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Agency for Health Care Administration under Gov. Charlie Crist, is in a tight three-way Republican primary for the fiscal Pam Bondi and general against Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp.

Gingrich greets Benson as “a proven conservative who can be trusted,” a blow to Bondi, which never before run for office and released Sarah robo-calls “Mama Bear” today Palin.

Gingrich says Benson is the best candidate for the control of President
