Holes, Rush Limbaugh told his audience Friday that he had no idea of a sign with his name in large letters accompanied by pictures of bullet holes and the slogan, “to the point,” existed in the street, where six people were killed during a political rally in Tucson on Saturday.
Also charged the media to make a big deal about it in his haste to associate the violence – mostly conservative – political words and imagery with the shooting.

“Guess what the media is buzzing right now?” He said. “Apparently, there was a Rush Limbaugh billboard in Tucson.”

A radio station took knst the billboard until Monday, but a picture of him made the rounds on the Internet, and liberal pundits have been decrying it as exactly the kind of hostile images that could incite violence.

Limbaugh said he learned of it Thursday and when he saw a picture of him, he misunderstood the meaning of Billboard.

He explained that it reminded him of one of his favorite poster campaigns in Sacramento that started as a simple text – “Rush Limbaugh is a wonderful human being” – but as days passed it was made to look like the panel display has been increasingly degraded by tomato and others were thrown at it.

“Two weeks later, most of the degradation of the display to give the impression that people were trying to tear down,” he said.

“I agreed to put up billboards promoting violence against me,” he said.

Therefore, he said, “first thought” on seeing the announcement Tucson was supposed to look like he was “angry Democrats in Tucson shooting bullets throughout the thing.”

Meanwhile, Premiere Radio Networks, the company that unions Limbaugh show, released a statement: “This particular ad – that uses” straight to “the common expression to describe the style of frank and direct Mr. Limbaugh – was designed and processed by local authorities. Promotiondepartment station in the wake of the tragic events that took place in Tucson, the station chose to receive the announcement on Monday, January 10 – believe that the debate on its interpretation would not contribute to the desire for healing in the community of Tucson. ”
