HGTV Green Home 2011, The fourth edition of the HGTV Green Home contest is open for entries and runs until Thursday, June 2 at 5 pm ET. One lucky winner, chosen at random from the house can expect to live in a modern prairie style, single-family home community located in Denver’s Stapleton, a progressive ecological community created on the site of the former city airport. Unique style and eco-friendly, the 2,400 square feet, home to the measure is part of a prize package that includes and, 000 and a 2011 GMC Terrain ® ®. Viewers who want to watch from the inside in the fully furnished house can tune in to see the HGTV Green Home 2011 special premieres Saturday, April 16 at 8 pm ET / PT.

Jamie Durie, host of the popular series The Outdoor Room with Jamie Durie, and Sabrina Soto, a designer of green certificates listed in the Statement HGTV Real Estate, will take viewers on a visual tour of the house and its spaces outdoors during the television special. They will be joined by HGTV Green Home designer Linda Woodrum and House of Planning Jack Thomasson, who will share tips on eco-design of housing and construction. In addition, Mom Correspondent Heather Armstrong will take viewers on a tour of the many family-friendly activities in the community of Stapleton.
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the HGTV Green Home has open spaces that converge to create an interactive environment, including a multi-use “make room”, ideal for family activities, and a dog wash in the garage. The house faces the future with a mixture of external forms and hipped roof cantilevered resemble a winged structure and give a nod to the past of the architecture of the airport site. Built by Infinity Home Collection Denver, the HGTV Green Home has design and construction elements that are known to contribute to an energy efficient, cleaner and healthier living environment.
The HGTV Green Home recently received a Platinum LEED certification – the highest rating a home can earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. In addition, the house also received Energy Star certification, which recognizes energy efficiency.
