Phyllis Schneck, who died in the shootout that also killed five people and wounded member Gabrielle Giffords Arizona, was the aunt of Edward Schneck, a professor in the department HCPS nontraditional programs; Chuck Schneck, a resident of Henrico, and in-laws Regulations sister Jeanette Schneck, also Henrico.
“We will miss his smile and shared hospitality whenever we visited her family members and others,” Edward Schneck said in a statement issued by Henrico County Public Schools spokesman Mychael Dickerson today. “She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. May you rest in peace, Phyllis? We would also like to thank all those who shared their prayers and their feelings of support our family. ”
Phyllis Schneck, 79, was a widow who spent her summers in New Jersey and winters in Tucson, according to news reports. She had two daughters, a son, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
