Hawaii Tsunami 2010 Video | USsPost.com:Hawaii was on alert after tsunami warning issued. It was expected that the waves will be 3 to 4 feet high. In reality the size of the waves were much higher then this. The tidal waves generated after the earthquake in Chile caused tsunami.
Tsunami warning was immediately issued after the quake. It was expected that tsunami waves will hit the near costs early and might also hit the distant coasts. The magnitude of the earthquake was 8.8 and its intensity is 1000 time more then the earthquake of Haiti. The destruction in Chile is less then as compared to the destruction in Haiti.
In the video it is clear that sea was calm before the first tidal wave hit the shore. The warning issued in Hawaii has been lifted after they observed that the intensity of the tidal waves was much less then it was expected in the start.
In Japan there are some risks associated with tectonic plates so a part of the country is evacuated. So far after 8.8 earthquakes the total number of aftershocks has reached to 76. There is also some high intensity after shocks also included in it. EU declared some donation to Chile even it is not demanded officially by Chile. US government is also committed to help the affected countries.
The video of tsunami hitting Hawaii shows that the waves are of less intensity and there is less chance that they might cause serious destruction.
