Happy Birthday Singapore

Happy Birthday Singapore, Derek Tan, director of APAC Cooliris told us today that their products are shown in real time photo sharing, LiveShare, all participants of Singapore Nation on photo sharing. Here’s the note from Derek:
We are using LiveShare in the parade this year the National Day 2011 (NDP2011), in collaboration with MediaCorp and Young NTUC for celebrations in the stadium floating and Padang!
That is certainly great news! There are three things worth celebrating: First, it is great to hear that the technology of a start-up has been adopted by major players. Secondly, it is great to see the country adopt new technologies. And third, happy birthday to Singapore!
LiveShare is not the only online technology that is used for the festivities. The NDP2011 also be broadcast live over the Internet, and will have the Facebook chat in the sidebar. Singapore has taken the live chat and Facebook before, but resulted in a lot of “interesting” discussions last year. Many of them were incredibly stupid comments, however, so I hope you do not see it again this year.
But yes, it will be used for LiveShare photo sharing contest NDP2011 this year, a very smart move for Cooliris to gain traction. “The top 20 pictures with the largest number of” like “Facebook NDP will each receive two goodie bags,” according XINMSN. (Not a very exciting prize, but nice try).
