Author George RR Martin, who wrote the book on which the series and serves as a writer and producer of the HBO series, has announced the issue on his blog Friday.

“This was another of those cases where there was almost no debate,” he said. “Gwendoline gave a great read, and her look was just perfect.”

In the books, Brienne is very skilled warrior and a gentleman would rather be a wife. It is described as strange by her height and abnormal strength and near absence of female sexual characteristics. She is sent to escort Jamie Lannister (played in the series by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to King’s landing to exchange it for Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) after her capture.

Christie is the second of Season 2, Tudor’s actress Natalie Dormer as Margaery recently joined Tyrell, a beautiful woman and cunning of the House Tyrell. She is to marry the brother of King Robert Baratheon Renly, partly to support his candidacy for the throne of King Joffrey.
