Gunmen Abduct American Man in PakistanGunmen Abduct American Man in Pakistan, Gunmen kidnapped an American expert, after the development deceives his guards and broke into his house in Pakistan on Saturday. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.

The U.S. Embassy has identified the victim as Warren Weinstein, who worked to help various industries in Pakistan. He is believed to be in his 60s.

Officials say up to 10 gunmen broke into the house of Weinstein in the eastern city of Lahore early Saturday morning. One reason for the abduction is not known.

Its removal has only 48 hours before he was supposed to go home.

Kidnapping against ransom is common in Pakistan, with occasional foreign targets. Criminal gangs are suspected in most of the kidnappings, but Islamist militants, are believed to also use tactics to raise money.

In Washington, the State Department said it was in contact with the family Weinstein and U.S. officials in Pakistan have been working with local authorities on the case. Joanne Moore, a spokesman declined to comment further, citing confidentiality issues.
