Security has been spotted, and it is good for Alex Rodriguez (notes) that they did.
Three NYPD uniformed officers and several security guards stage collar Grim LeRogue Rodriguez before he could reach the top of the fifth inning. LeRogue, 33, was attempting to deal with A-Rod on his relationship with Cameron Diaz.
N. Y. Daily News:
Nestled in the pocket LeRogue, police found a picture of Alex Rodriguez’s face crossed out and drawing a small pistol pointed at his head, said a source. Engraved on the photo were the words: “You gotta go, buddy.”
“He was absolutely out of his mind [expletive],” the source said, adding that LeRogue was rambling all the time he was in custody.
Whoa. Matt Diaz (notes) for triggering the red guy who ran on the field during the Phillies game was funny. But is it? Against A-Rod has been blocked? This is straight out of “Charlie’s Angels” episode.
But that’s life real. And even if LeRogue was not carrying a weapon, real scary.
MLB.com reported that A-Rod was unavailable for comment following Game 4 on Tuesday night after the news broke. Assuming that the cops told him about LeRogue, which must be A-Rod thinking?
Below, see a fan-recorded video of the incident.
Some off field escapades-A-Rod have been fodder for the amusement of the public – even ridiculous – and this blog is no exception to participate.
But to think that someone would have bothered set his sights on A-Rod hurt – and produced under the feet of him – he is cool. And this guy LeRogue, if a third of what is reported is true; it is a dangerous box of Fruit Loops.
About him, police also said:
• He admitted to being in love with Diaz, who might think him a hero because he took to Rodriguez. A little Jodie Foster / John Hinckley / Reagan thing there.
• LeRogue, who lives in the Bronx, has legally changed his name from John Rogan as a strategy to help the sales of a book project.
• He wants to kill singer Bobby Brown because Osama Bin Laden has a crush on Brown’s wife, Whitney Houston. Oh, sure.
• LeRogue was charged with assault and interfering with a sporting event, and was the subject of a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital.
