Greg Mattison, (AP) – Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Greg “Mattison”quitte to fill the same role of new personnel Brady Hoke to Michigan.

Mattison, whose Hoke called “one of the top defensive coordinators in football” when he announced the hiring Tuesday was also the defensive coordinator for the Wolverines during the 1995 and 1996 seasons. He was defensive coordinator co-Florida for three seasons from 2005-07, and then joined the Ravens for their linebacker’s coach in 2008 before serving as defensive coordinator in Baltimore the past two seasons.

Mattison also spent eight seasons (1997-2004) at Notre Dame.

Ravens promote Pagano to replace Mattison

(AP) – The Baltimore Ravens promoted secondary coach Chuck Pagano to defensive coordinator on Tuesday to replace Greg Mattison,”who took the same job at Michigan.

Pagano, who has a reputation for aggressive defensive coach, was defensive coordinator in 2007 at the University of North Carolina. Previously, it was secondary coach with the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns.

The Baltimore Ravens have promoted secondary coach Chuck Pagano, defensive coordinator, replacing Greg Mattison.

Ravens cornerback Fabian Washington said the move was “way past overdue” and that Pagano long overdue NFL defensive coordinator.
