Green Mile Actor Marries, Actor Doug Hutchison, who is best known for his role as Percy Wetmore corrections officer in the movie “The Green Mile,” has married his 16-year-old girlfriend in Las Vegas, said Monday. A brief update on the website showed a photo Hutchison wedding and said the couple were married May 20 at noon local time in the Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas. “Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison live happily installed in their Hollywood Hills [California] home with their young lil ‘, Everette and tuna!” the statement said.
The news that Hutchison, 51, married Courtney Alexis Stodden, 16, led to a firestorm of criticism online, because of their age difference, although it is legal. “We realize that our age difference is extremely huge controversy,” the couple said in a statement E! Online. “But we are very much in love and want to get the message that true love can last forever.”
Hutchison is best known for his role as Percy Wetmore corrections officer in the popular 1996 movie ‘The Green Mile. “Is also known as Eugene Victor Tooms on The X-Files,” as Horace Goodspeed in’ Lost ‘and ’24 as in Davros.
Stodden was once Miss Teen USA contestant Washington 2010, but lost the race to 17-year-old Camilla Cyr. She is also a self-described “next recording artist who writes her own music” and a model and a dancer.
Some wondered if the marriage was legal because of the age Stodden, but the Nevada state law allows youth under 18 to marry with parental consent. “We are totally in favor of this marriage,” said Courtney’s mother Krista Stodden Radar Online, confirming that at least one parent had to sign the permission form for the marriage takes place.
In a YouTube video uploaded by Stodden in December 2010, describes he as a Christian girl and said he wanted to have sex until married. “About myself, I am a Christian girl. I have my faith very well, and I am a virgin and I remain so until I’m married,” he said.
Although the age of majority in California, where they will live, is 18, this does not apply when the minor is legally married in any U.S. state.
