Got Away Perry, Days after her estranged husband, Russell Brand, filed for divorce, Katy Perry has hidden from the public eye. Sulking on “The One That Got Away”, After news sprung out regarding the shocking divorce, Katy took off with best bud Rihanna and spent the rest of 2011 in Barbados.
The singer she couldn’t hide for long and a few sources confirmed that Perry was scheduled to make her post-split appearance at the highly anticipated People’s Choice Awards. This announcement alone got a lot of Katy Cats purring.
Yet, days after her said appearance at the show, Katy announced on Twitter that she’d be unable to make it. Was this Katy Perry’s way of avoiding confrontation with ex-husband of 14-months of marriage, Russell Brand? Sources did confirm however that Brand declined his invitation. So why did the singer cancel her appearance?
Well, Perry’s marriage might be in the rubbles but her career surely isn’t. The “Fireworks” singer nabbed five major awards out of seven nominations at the 38th annual People’s Choice Awards. Five of these awards include Favorite Song of the Year for the song “E.T.”, Favorite Tour Headliner and Favorite TV Guest Star for her stint on “How I Met Your Mother”, Favorite Music Video for “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” and lastly Favorite Female Artist.
With all the awards the singer managed to nab, Katy took to Twitter to express her gratitude to her beloved Katy Cats.
“THANK U to every1 who voted for me for the @peopleschoice tonight!” tweeted the star right after the awards show. “We won so many!”
Considering those were five major awards, where was Katy planning to display them? The singer had a short and simple answer for that.
“Now I need to get more books 2 successfully display them!” says Katy in another tweet.
Quick thinking Katy, because with your divorce at hand, you’re sure to lose around half of the books on your shelf, if you leave out what Brand might own.
