Golden Nugget Casino, Firefighters evacuated 50 people and transported one person to a hospital after a fire Thursday at the Golden Nugget hotel in downtown Las Vegas.

The two-alarm fire was reported in a guest room on the 22nd floor of the Rush Tower just before 8:30 a.m.  That floor, along with floors 23 and 24, are being remodeled, according to Las Vegas fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski.

It’s unknown whether the victim was a guest or employee. Floors 21 through 25 were emptied as firefighters raced up flights of stairs to combat the flames. Fortunately, Szymanski said, sprinklers contained the fire to one room.
